INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the engine switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Connect the airbag connector to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly. NOTICE: When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Push in the airbag connector lock to install the airbag connector.

(e) Engage the hook, 2 guides and 3 claws to temporarily install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

(f) Install the 2 bolts.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

Confirm that the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

9. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

10. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

11. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
