DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION
Dynamic torque control AWD system data and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be read through the Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3) of the vehicle. When the system seems to be malfunctioning, use the Techstream to check for malfunctions and perform repairs.

FUNCTION OF AWD WARNING
(a) The AWD warning message displayed on the multi-information display warns the driver if the condition of dynamic torque control AWD system is poor or abnormal.
(b) If the 4WD ECU assembly detects a malfunction, the master warning light illuminates and the multi-information display displays warning messages to warn the driver in accordance with malfunction.
HINT:
Check that the master warning light illuminates for approximately 4 seconds.
CHECK MASTER WARNING LIGHT
(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG), and check that the master warning light comes on for approximately 4 seconds.
HINT:
The master warning light goes off while the system is in DTC output mode.
CHECK AWD LOCK MODE INDICATOR LIGHT
(a) Check AWD lock mode indicator light.
(1) When the engine switch is turned on (IG), check that the AWD lock mode indicator light illuminates and goes off within approximately 4 seconds.
HINT:
If the AWD lock mode indicator light does not illuminate, check for combination meter assembly and CAN communication system DTCs, since the 4WD ECU assembly and combination meter assembly are connected by the CAN communication line.
If the AWD lock mode indicator light does not illuminate, perform relevant troubleshooting procedures. The relevant troubleshooting procedures are in the sections listed in the table below.
