OPERATION CHECK

CHECK BASIC FUNCTION

HINT:

The rear power seat switch is a collective term for the rear power seat switch RH and the rear power seat switch LH.

(a) Operate the rear power seat switch, fold seat switch assembly and check that each switch function operates normally.

  • Reclining operation (rear power seat switch)
  • Fold operation (rear power seat switch and fold seat switch assembly)
  • Return operation (rear power seat switch and fold seat switch assembly)

CHECK RECLINING OPERATION

HINT:

  • The rear power seat switch is also used as the seatback reclining switch.
  • The rear power seat switch is a collective term for the rear power seat switch RH and the rear power seat switch LH.

(a) Operation conditions:

  • Initialization has been completed.
  • The rear seatback is within the reclining operation range (between upright position and recline end position).
  • No other rear seat switches are being operated.

(b) Press and hold the fold switch of the rear power seat switch and check that the rear seatback tilts forward. Release the switch and check that the operation stops. Then press and hold the fold switch of the rear power seat switch and check that the rear seatback stops tilting forward when it reaches the upright position.

(c) Press and hold the return switch of the rear power seat switch and check that the rear seatback reclines. Release the switch and check that the operation stops. Then press and hold the return switch of the rear power seat switch and check that the rear seatback stops reclining when it reaches the recline end position.

(d) Block the rear seatback during a reclining operation and check that the reclining operation stops.

CHECK FOLD OPERATION (REAR POWER SEAT SWITCH OPERATION)

HINT:

The rear power seat switch is a collective term for the rear power seat switch RH and the rear power seat switch LH.

(a) Operation conditions:

  • Initialization has been completed.
  • The vehicle is stopped.

    Engine Switch State

    Condition

    Engine switch on (IG)

    Shift lever in P, stop light switch assembly on or parking brake applied

    Vehicle speed below 5 km/h (3.1 mph)

    Engine switch off

    -

  • The rear door is open (same side as operated switch).
  • No other rear seat switches are being operated.
  • The seatback is within the fold operation range (between upright position and fold end position).

(b) Press and hold the fold switch of the rear power seat switch for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds twice and a fold operation is performed. Check that a buzzer sounds twice when the fold operation is complete.

(c) Operate another rear seat switch during a fold operation and check that the fold operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(d) During a fold operation, while the seatback is between the upright position and jam return position, cause a jam to be detected and check that the fold operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(e) During a fold operation, while the seatback is between the jam return position and overload detection lower limit position, cause a jam to be detected and check that a buzzer sounds in the reverse auto operation buzzer pattern and the rear seatback stops and then operates in the opposite direction until it reaches the jam return position. Check that when the rear seatback reaches the jam return position, the buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(f) With any of the following conditions met, press and hold the fold switch of the rear power seat switch switch for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds once and a fold operation is not performed:

  • The engine switch is on (IG).
  • The shift lever is not in P or N.
  • The stop light switch assembly is off.
  • The parking brake is released.

HINT:

If any of the above conditions are met, the seatback is in the upright position and the rear door on the same side as the operated switch is closed, the buzzer will not sound.

(g) Press and hold the fold switch of the rear power seat switch for 0.5 seconds with the rear door on the same side as the operated switch closed and check that a buzzer sounds once and a fold operation is not performed.

CHECK FOLD OPERATION (FOLD SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Operation conditions:

  • Initialization has been completed.
  • The vehicle is stopped.

    Shift lever in P, stop light switch assembly on or parking brake applied

    Vehicle speed below 5 km/h (3.1 mph)

    Engine switch off

  • The back door is open (when operating fold seat switch assembly only).
  • No other rear seat switches are operated.
  • The rear seatback is within the fold operation range (between return end position and fold end position).

(b) Press and hold the fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds twice and a fold operation is performed. Check that a buzzer sounds twice when the fold operation is complete.

(c) Operate another rear seat switch during a fold operation and check that the fold operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(d) During a fold operation, while the rear seatback is between the return end position and upright position, cause a jam to be detected and check that the fold operation stops.

(e) During a fold operation, while the rear seatback is between the upright position and jam return position, cause a jam to be detected and check that the fold operation stops and the buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(f) During a fold operation, while the rear seatback is between the jam return position and overload detection lower limit position, cause a jam to be detected and check that a buzzer sounds in the reverse auto operation buzzer pattern and the rear seatback stops and then operates in the opposite direction until it reaches the jam return position. Check that when the rear seatback reaches the jam return position, the buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(g) With any of the following conditions met, press and hold the fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds once and a fold operation is not performed:

  • The engine switch is on (IG).
  • The shift lever is not in P or N.
  • The stop light switch assembly is off.
  • The parking brake is released.

(h) Press and hold the fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly for 0.5 seconds with the rear door on the same side as the operated switch closed and check that a buzzer sounds once and a fold operation is not performed.

CHECK RETURN OPERATION (REAR POWER SEAT SWITCH OPERATION)

HINT:

The rear power seat switch is a collective term for the rear power seat switch RH and the rear power seat switch LH.

(a) Operation conditions:

  • Initialization has been completed.
  • The vehicle is stopped.

    Shift lever in P, stop light switch assembly on or parking brake applied

    Vehicle speed below 5 km/h (3.1 mph)

    Engine switch off

  • The rear door is open (same side as operated switch).
  • No other rear seat switches are operated.
  • The rear seatback is within the return operation range (between fold end position and upright position).

(b) Press and hold the return switch of the rear power seat switch for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds twice and a return operation is performed. Check that a buzzer sounds twice when the return operation is complete.

(c) Operate another rear seat switch during a return operation and check that the return operation stops and a buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(d) During a return operation, cause a jam to be detected and check that a buzzer sounds in the reverse auto operation buzzer pattern and the rear seatback stops and then operates in the opposite direction 10°. When the seatback stops, check that the buzzer sounds continuously.

HINT:

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(e) While the vehicle is being driven press and hold the return switch of the rear power seat switch for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds once and a return operation is not performed.

(f) Press and hold the return switch of the rear power seat switch for 0.5 seconds with the rear door on the same side as the operated switch closed and check that a buzzer sounds once and a return operation is not performed.

CHECK RETURN OPERATION (FOLD SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Operation conditions:

  • Initialization has been completed.
  • The vehicle is stopped.

(b) Press and hold the return switch of the rear power seat switch for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds twice and a return operation is performed. Check that a buzzer sounds twice when the return operation is complete.

(d) During a return operation, when the rear seatback is between the fold end position and upright position, cause a jam to be detected and check that a buzzer sounds in the reverse auto operation buzzer pattern and the rear seatback stops and then operates in the opposite direction 10°. When the seatback stops check that the buzzer sounds continuously.

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(e) During a return operation, when the rear seatback is between the upright position and neutral position, cause a jam to be detected and check that a buzzer sounds in the reverse auto operation buzzer pattern and the rear seatback stops and then operates in the opposite direction 10°.

When the rear power seat switch is operated to perform a fold operation again, the buzzer will stop.

(f) While the vehicle is being driven press and hold the return switch of the fold seat switch assembly for 0.5 seconds and check that a buzzer sounds once and a return operation is not performed.

(g) Press and hold the return switch of the fold seat switch assembly for 0.5 seconds with the rear door on the same side as the operated switch closed and that a buzzer sounds once and a return operation is not performed.
